Vertac Height Services were engaged to perform façade works via abseil and scaffolding on the latter stages of the main building redevelopment. Our works restored watertightness as well as enhancing the refurbished building’s new aesthetic.

Services
- Concrete and reinforcing repairs
- Painting existing precast concrete panels
- Extensive sealant replacement
Approach: As an ongoing development we worked closely with the main contractor and architects to determine the most suitable approaches to efficiently manage the work. Due to the large volume and fast approaching deadline, we implemented new procedures where possible to assist with speeding up the process. For example, having an extra technician responsible for rigging allowed us to use power ascending devices when spray painting. This meant instead of needing to come off ropes a technician was able to transfer straight onto the next set of ropes, ascend, and continue painting. We were also able to assist other trades by establishing safe access for them to complete their work using temporary safety lines, our Site Supervisor was then able to monitor both teams and respond to any safety concerns should they arise.
Methodology:
• Concrete and reinforcing repairs to precast concrete panels (approx. 30m2)
• Replacing sealant in joints between precast concrete panels (approx. 2400lm)
• Painting existing precast concrete panels
